Our Response to COVID19

CPYFA will implement a number of safety measures for the Fall 2020 season in response to COVID19. These measures will align with guidance and recommendations from the CDC, state and local governments, UIL, LISD and other authorities as may be deemed appropriate. This page is intended as a resource to parents, coaches and players and will be updated from time to time as new information and guidance is made available. 

Practices
  • All players and coaches will have their temperature checked using a contactless forehead thermometer

    • players or coaches with a temperature over 100°F will not be eligible to practice that day​

  • Hand sanitizer will be in heavy use during all practices​

    • players and coaches will use hand sanitizer at the start and conclusion of practice, after every water break and as deemed necessary by coaches

  • All blocking/tackling pads, footballs and other equipment to be used during practice will be cleaned with a non-toxic disinfectant prior to use in each practice

  • Players will be required to label their water bottles; sharing of water bottles will not be allowed

    • Players without personal hydration (water bottle) will not be allowed to participate in practice until they have demonstrated possession of a water bottle (full of water)

Communicable Diseases Waiver

We ask that all volunteers and parents complete a communicable diseases release/waiver prior participation in formal or informal CPYFA events.

Game Day Concessions

CPYFA will follow Texas Minimum Standard Health Protocols  as revised July 2nd (or the most current revision for the given Game Day) for all concessions. Of particular note: 

  • Social distancing while in line for concessions will be enforced

  • Hand sanitizer will be made available at the concessions table

  • Concessions shall sell only pre-packaged food and beverages for the entirety of the season 

  • Though not required, contactless payment is requested and will be encouraged at every transaction

  • All volunteers working Concessions stand on behalf of CPYFA will be screened for standard COVID symptoms and have their temperature taken with a contactless thermometer prior to being declared eligible to work

Game Day
  • All players and coaches will have their temperature checked using a contactless forehead thermometer at checkin

    • players or coaches with a temperature over 100°F will not be eligible to participate in the game

    • ineligible players/coaches will not be allowed to remain on the sidelines in close proximity to other players and coaches

  • Hand sanitizer will be in heavy use during all games

    • players and coaches will use hand sanitizer at the start and conclusion of the game, upon every rotation onto or off the field and at any other time deemed necessary

    • players wearing receiver/lineman gloves are exempt from the sanitizer requirement unless and until they remove their gloves

      • all players will use hand sanitizer upon removing their gloves​

  • All footballs and other equipment to be used during the game will be cleaned with a non-toxic disinfectant prior to use

Parents & Spectators
  • Per state and local government requirements, parents are asked to adhere to and maintain social distancing standards and practices

  • Parents and spectators are encouraged to wear masks while watching the game and to make use of hand sanitizer and other personal protective equipment as appropriate

  • Spectator stands at Boles Sports Complex will be limited seating on a first come, first-served basis. Parents and fans are encouraged to bring personal seating to the game and to maintain social distancing of six feet or more. Groups of ten or more spectators will be asked to disperse to appropriate distancing. 

  • In order to ensure appropriate distance is maintained parents of athletes preparing for games not yet in play will not be permitted to congregate or establish themselves in parent viewing areas until such time as all athletes and parents from the preceding game have vacated the field and viewing areas. 

  • Lingering after games have completed by players, family members or fans will not be permitted. All parties are expected to vacate the Boles Sports Complex with appropriate urgency upon the completion of their game.

  • Parents and Spectators are asked not to share snacks, beverages or other food items brought to or purchased at games/practices with non-family members

  • Parents and Spectators are reminded that only players, coaches and badged CPYFA/LISD officials are allowed along the sideline area during games

    • Congregating near the field entrance before or after games is not allowed. Parents and spectators are asked to keep the path to and from the field entrance clear at all times​
